Brown Sugar Icing
Today I made a small cake for my Mom.
She had surgery last week and will be resting for the next few week, so I though she might appreciate this little treat.
I used her age old recipe for the icing. A recipe that is maybe 100 years old, if not older.

The
recipe came from my Grandmother's mother. She past it down to her
daughter, my mother pasted it down to me, I pasted it down to my
daughter and now I am passing it onto my readers.
Recipe
3/4C Brown Sugar
1/3C Water
1 Egg
Boil brown sugar and water mixture to a hard boil for 4 minutes.
Separate the egg.
Beat the white until peek.
Pour the boiled mixture into the white egg peek.
Beat until stiff.Will cover a 9x13 cake.
Enjoy!
Step 1 - Brown sugar and water mixture - boil hard for 4 minutes - any longer and it will candy
Step 2 - Separate your egg white from the yolk
Step 3 - beat egg white until peek. pour and beat in boiled mixture
This is a nice simple, quick recipe if you are looking to make icing from scratch,
or you don't have an icing mix in the house.
Simple, quick.....and oh so yummy!
